He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1966. He then attended Bowling Green State University where he earned his bachelor's degree. John worked as an assistant store manager at various Sear's locations until his retirement.An avid Ohio sports fan, John enjoyed cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He liked to stay busy and enjoyed working on projects outdoors and, after his retirement, working part time at Milan Library and Kroger to keep himself occupied. Most important to John, however, was his family and he treasured the time that he spent with those he loved most.John's survivors include his beloved wife, Susan (Schaffer), whom he wed Sept. 16, 1983; children, John (Olivia) Burrow of Norwalk and Jenna (Kevin) Bicke
