Frederick Albert 'Al' Alexander

Frederick Albert “Al” Alexander was born on November 25, 1932, in Sandusky, on the Southside, “236 S. Depot St.,” he so proudly recalled every time he was asked. He passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at the age of 92. He was the seventh son of eight born to James and Rebecca (Connors) Alexander.Al attended and graduated from Sandusky High School June 1952 and left shortly after enlisting in the US Air Force for four years and honorably discharged as an Airman First Class, for which he received the Certificate Of Honor. He was a ready and willing helper, very respectable, and was quick to extend a hand, addressing any man as “Sir.”Al retired from Sandusky Ford Motor Plant after 40 years of service in October 1996. He was a member of UAW Local 1216 and worked several other jobs while laid off during his tenure at Ford. In his early years, Al attended furniture making school in New York.He enjoyed refinishing and reupholstering old furniture that his wife, Mevelyn, collected. His
