Judith Dale (Leibacher) Bechtel, 84, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Parkvue Health Care Center due to an extended illness.
Judith was born on January 23, 1941 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late William and Irene (Behrendsen) Leibacher; just before her twin brother, Gerald.
Judy was a lifelong resident of Sandusky and a graduate of Sandusky High School. Judy was a hard worker, devoted wife, step mother, aunt and friend to many.
Judy worked for the City of Sandusky in several capacities, retiring after many years as a dispatcher for the Sandusky Police Department. It was in this capacity that she met and subsequently married Richard Bechtel. They enjoyed almost 52 years of marriage together.
Judy and Richard built their dream home on the west end in 1977 and she lived there until her health recently declined. Judy hosted family meals, holiday gatherings and special birthdays for her grandchildren. Her spaghetti sauce was exceptional and her meringue cream pies
