Richard A. McQueen, 89, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 21, 2025, following a lengthy illness.
Born on January 26, 1936, in Brownhelm, OH, Richard was a lifelong resident of the Vermilion area.
For 57 years, he owned and operated Advance Sign Co., later McQueen Sign Co., before retiring in 2016. He took great pride in his work and the business he built.
A former member of Ely Masonic Lodge #424, Richard had a passion for gardening, fishing, and sports. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes, rarely missing a game.
He is survived by his sons, Eric (Ellen) McQueen of Huron and Aaron (Cynthia) McQueen of Hudson; his grandchildren, Matt, Caitlin, and Kate; companion of 25 years, Ann Anderson; his brothers, William (Cathleen) McQueen of Virginia and Dale (Gerry) McQueen of Massachusetts; and his sister, Kathleen Queen of Amherst.
